Governments, in partnership with the private sector and other actors of civil society, should strive to eradicate poverty, especiallythe feminization of poverty, to change production and consumption patterns and to create sound, well-hctioning local economies as the basis for sustainable development, inter alia, by empoweringthe local population, especiallywomen.
