After a transitional section (37–38) reasserting the moderate and decent character projected by the speaker, Aeschines proceeds to a narrative of Timarchus’ sexual career (39 –70) with testimony. At this point Aeschines interrupts his narrative and turns to anticipation of the defense arguments, boldly tackling head-on the fact that he has not a shred of solid evidence against Timarchus (71–94).
