Reproduction: These salamanders breed from March to June, laying a clutch of 7-16 eggs which take 7-10 months to hatch. Larvae metamorphose in 4 to 5 years and reach sexual maturity at 6 to 7 years of age. Food Habits: The diet consists of aquatic and semi-aquatic invertebrates, including amphipods, springtails, fly larvae, worms, snails, and spiders.
